Dog gives birth to 11 puppies, gently places each puppy one by one into foster mom’s lap

Becoming a new parent can definitely be an overwhelming experience, even for dogs!
Grayce the dog gave birth to eleven beautiful puppies—10 boys and one girl. Her foster mom, Stevoni Wells Doyle, was surprised when, just a few days after the puppies’ birth, Grayce began lightly placing them one by one onto her lap.
“I think she feels unsure still as a new mom,” Doyle told The Dodo. “And she needed love and reassurance from someone she loves and trusts.”
Doyle explained that Grayce had been neglected in her previous home, and desperately needed a safe place to give birth to her pups. Grayce has been living with Doyle in her Utah home for about three weeks, and needless to say, her gesture shows how quickly she’s come to trust Doyle during this short amount of time.
Doyle has given shelter to hundreds of dogs in need of foster families. She believes foster animals need us. “We are their voice and need to protect them” she stated.
However, among her countless doggie guests, Grayce is the first to trust her so deeply with her puppies and hand them to her in this way.
“I was honored that she choose me to trust with her pups and herself,” Doyle said. “I’m still overwhelmed with her love.”
Families in Utah will be able to adopt Grayce and the puppies within the next few weeks through Rescue Lovers.
Although Grayce had a difficult past, she is a loving friend and mother. Luckily, her puppies were welcomed into the world with lots of warmth and affection, and they will all soon be able to find their forever homes and families.
